History of the Firm

Gellibrand Accountants was established by Greg Lawson in December 2003 to service the accounting and taxation needs of small and medium-size business owners.

Located in Williamstown in the western suburbs of Melbourne, our firm has experienced exponential growth over the last 7- 8 years, through our professional and pro-active response to the changing needs of our clients.

We now service a diverse range of clients including micro, small and medium sized business owners, offering specialised accounting, taxation and business advice while still able to provide personal service in a friendly atmosphere.

Our aim is to help you grow your revenue, your profits and your business value plus create personal wealth using tax effective strategies like negative gearing and superannuation. We have added a range of extra services for our clients and if we cannot directly assist clients we draw on the extensive knowledge of our alliance partners to ensure they get the best solution for their needs.

Principal

As the Principal of the firm, Greg established Gellibrand Accountants in late 2003 with a view to providing a niche service for small business owners and self managed superannuation funds. The success of the firm has been founded on delivering ongoing personalised and cost effective services which are afforded to each and every client of the firm.

Greg sees himself as a businessman first, it just so happens his business is accounting. His ability to “walk the talk” has ensured successful outcomes for any number of his small business clients – many of whom have been clients since their original start up. His personal goal is “to ensure clients feel that Gellibrand Accountants helped them grow their business and to lead them down a pathway of business success, not just help them save some tax”.

Greg has extensive experience in all areas of public accounting, with expertise in taxation advice and planning, business structuring and development, self managed superannuation and general management advice.

Specialties and Niches

Greg has special interest in manufacturing, building and construction, printing and the trades. He is regarded as an expert in business start ups and self managed superannuation.

Outside of Work

Greg loves golf and is currently a member of Kooringal Golf Club. He is currently obsessed with reducing his handicap to below 2.

KAYE LAWSON

Self Managed Super Fund Accountant and Auditor

Kaye joined the team 13 years ago and works as an accountant and auditor.

Experience and Specialties

Kaye is our resident superannuation expert and is responsible for preparing all our Self Managed Super Fund accounts and tax returns. She also audits 80+ superannuation funds for other accounting firms. Before joining us she had 9 years experience in the insurance industry and 5 years as an auditor for Deloitte.
